There have been a lot of new bidding directories popping up lately. One of them was Apricot2008.net. It appears this domain name was used for the "Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies", and then was converted to a bidding directory.

It had a page rank of 7 at one time, but now the PR was recently dropped down to 4. This is just an example of why you should research the directory thoroughly before paying for a link.

Some new directories are expired domains that have been converted into a directory in an attempt to make a quick profit. Once the page rank is updated it usually falls significantly, and the directory loses its value.
